101 Reasons Why I will Vote For Modi!

101 Reasons Why I will Vote For Modi !

Namaskar Dear Readers,
You have in your hand a rare experiment of doing some serious political commentary on 10 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work through a graphic novel (or comic book in popular parlance), using 10 different popular art styles. During my research at the University of Oxford on "Usage of graphics novels for political commentary", under my Chevening Gurukul fellowship, I studied and followed various political graphic novels. I understood that graphic novels can be a very powerful means to communicate political ideas to the masses. This book is written from a voter's point of view, that why she or he will vote Narendra Modi back to power in 2024. I have collected most of my stories after directly talking to the beneficiaries of different schemes of the Modi government. I especially want to thank Mahesh Sharma, the art director for this book, who worked closely with me to convert my script into the visual medium. I want to thank Pallavi Saxena and Anand Kumar Upadhyay for helping me design the book. This book contains 10 art styles namely - Semi realistic style, Cartoon style, Stylised style, Manga style, Watercolor style, Realistic art style, Black and white style, Traditional Indian comic book style, Disney style, and Sepia/Muted style. I can't thank enough the different artists who have worked on this book and contributed different art styles - Samrat Bej, Srijita, Mad- hura, Deepak, Kaushik, Kamaljeet, Akash. I want to thank Aman Arya Mishra who helped me with the hindi poetic couplets for some of the cases in the book. I want to thank my wife Swetha Rao Duggu, Anand Kumar Upadhyay, BS Gupta Ji, Mohit Jain Ji for editing and proofreading the content for me.
Each page of this graphic novel went through a detailed literary and artistic journey. First Scripted and Storyboarded all the pages based on my primary research. From there the art director and artists took on. First the art director did the layouting, then artist did the rough sketching, then coloring and then added the dialogues. Detailed re- view and feedback loops were run through for each panel, each page and every dialogue between the multiple team members.
So here you have in your hand - '101 Reasons, Why I will vote for Modi'
